Student recording VVI

Virtual Video Interviews

The USF Career Center has had the unique opportunity to pilot  the Virtual Video Interview (VVI) to USF students and alumni through a partnership with Interview USA, Inc. (IUSA).

This is how a VVI is recorded:
In a private office in the Career Center, a camera records the interviewee answering virtual interview questions in front of a computer screen. The recording is then put on a website by IUSA and the interviewee is sent a URL to the web site, which can be included on a resume, and accessed by employers 24/7 from anywhere with internet access.

While employers will continue to conduct final decision-making interviews in person, the VVI can be used for initial screening interviews.

How do I Schedule a VVI?

  1. If you haven't already done so, activate an account in Career Connections, our online resume database, sign a Resume Release form and upload your resume into Career Connections.
  2. Sign a Virtual Video Release form.
  3. Schedule your appointment by coming in, or calling 813-974-2171. Note - schedule at least an hour for the entire process from the time you check in at the Career Center.

The cost of the VVI is included in the $10 Career Connections activation fee for students.
VVI is included in the $50 fee for USF Career Center Alumni Services.

The Virtual Video Interview takes about 45 minutes. You can move through the interview as quickly as you wish by clicking the mouse for the next question.  If dissatisfied with your interview, you can redo it  within the allotted appointment time, and  you may submit up to three revised interviews within 90 days from the date the initial interview was submitted.

Before the VVI:
Review the Instructions and Tips
Plan to wear professional attire; preferably a suit
Sign in at the Career Center 10 - 15 minutes before your interview
Review the tips sheet in the interview room

After the VVI:
Please complete our survey.
Set up an appointment to review your interview with your career counselor (optional).

How to Attach Your VVI to your Resume: Once you are satisfied with your interview and have received the URL for your VVI from InterviewUSA, add it to the bottom of your resume. Click here to view a sample resume with VVI URL included).
